“What I like about the space now, is that the whole room works. It’s obviously not a huge room, so we wanted a space that you can quite easily live and be apart of the kitchen and living area at the same time.”

“We live by the beach and wanted to go with a coastal feel, so we spent a fair bit of time trying to find the right tones that would go with the flooring and the shelves. Our unit is on the southern side of the building so we don’t get a lot of light which is why we wanted something that would lighten up our home during all of the seasons so we could get the most out of the space.”

“Mary and I love plants to soften up our space. Our favourite item under one hundred dollars would be our monsteras, which adds a touch of greenery.”

“My advice for people hoping to embark on this journey is making sure you have plenty of time but to also be realistic and flexible with time frames when you are working in with trades. Mary and I are having a baby in a couple of months so we needed to make sure that if there was somewhat of an overlap that things were under control in terms of where the renovations were at. We are where we are now because everyone has worked in well, but I think that everyone should factor in at least a two month allowance into their journey. With a baby on the way you have to think about whether it’s something you have time for with everything going on.”
