Project 80

This contemporary coastal-inspired kitchen renovation creates an open, airy feeling so that the seashore vibes can be celebrated all year round.

While aesthetics are crucial when creating a coastal vibe in your kitchen, it’s also important to consider functionality. In this home, our client wanted more space to be able to move around more freely and access everything without too much awkwardness. So we took down some walls, which instantly added space and natural light.

We used a combination of white shaker-style cabinetry and timber laminate (in native oak) cabinetry to create a relaxed vibe. With plenty of drawers, cupboard space and a butler’s pantry, it means now everything has its home so benchtops can be left clear and spotless, adding to that calm, coastal feeling.

The curved island bench is made from Scandinavian ribbed board and adds beautiful visual interest to the central kitchen island. The brushed brass accessories are budget-friendly and complete the look to blend with the tapware and sink. The timber floating shelves add that touch of rustic.

Tying it all together is the soft, white, neutral colour palette to add that elegance and coastal charm to this gorgeous kitchen. The homeowner is thrilled with her new kitchen, and we think it turned out beautifully.
