1. Select a calming colour palette

Whites and neutrals are always a good backdrop to a relaxing bathroom. It keeps the colours soft, calming to the eye and tranquil on the mind. You can always add pops of colour using muted tones through clever use of décor such as hand towels or candles.

2. Soft lighting

This is so critical to creating that ambience of rest and rejuvenation. No one likes harsh bathroom lighting, so consider warm lighting behind the mirror or underneath cabinets to give that warm and cosy glow.

3. Custom cabinetry

As expert Gold Coast cabinetmakers, we’ve seen many stylish and not-so-stylish cabinets over the years! We recommend using drawers for lower cabinets as they are super practical when you’re bending down below the vanity to find your lotions!

4. Décor

The trick to creating a relaxing and stylish bathroom is to keep it simple. Less is definitely more. Think practical décor items, such as an aesthetic hand soap or a tray for your favourite perfume or jewellery. Plants are always a winning way to add texture and a spa-like feel, and if you’ve got enough space, wall art can be a great way to tie the room together and show off your personality.

5. Promote relaxation:

Control the aromas by adding a scented candle or an essential oil diffuser. Lavender, chamomile and jasmine are all great scents for creating a calming atmosphere. If you’ve got a bath, having an aesthetic bath salt and bath soap adds to that pampering feeling. And remember to set up some calming spa music to complete the look, sound and feel!
