How can a mudroom enhance your home?

Mudrooms are that in-between space – you’re not quite indoors, but you’re not quite outdoors! Generally, mudrooms are often thought of as an afterthought when it comes to home design, but they can be a great way to enhance your home. A mudroom can help keep your home clean and organised and can also be a great place to store things you need to keep out of the way.

We think mudrooms are so much more than just a dumping ground! They provide the perfect storage space for shoes, coats and sports equipment. They can also be used as a place to hang wet towels or to dry off after a shower. Mudrooms can even be used as a space to clean off your pets and give them a wash after a long, dirty walk. After all, there’s nothing worse than muddy footprints through the home!

What else can you include in your mudroom?

Here’s our handy checklist of what items will enhance your mudroom:

·       Remember the time with a clock!

·       A mirror is a handy addition to help with the illusion of increased space, and fix up the hair and make-up!

·       A doormat can be a way of welcoming family members into the space.

·       Closed storage cabinets give you a place to keep your items organised.

·       A rug adds that homely feel to the mudroom.

·       Often, a bench seat is a good idea, so it’s easier to get shoes and socks off while sitting.

·       A set of hooks or a bowl for keys means you’ll never need to look far for those missing keys.

A mudroom can be a great addition to any home, and it can help to keep your home clean and organised. If you are considering adding or renovating a mudroom at your home, talk to us about what options are available to you. Check out our mudroom inspiration below.
